UPDATE on Trade Shows in 2020

It has been a grim few months for Trade Shows in the UK and there seems to be no end in sight for the industry.

Despite holding various very successful test events both in Scotland and elsewhere in the UK which were attended by government ministers, decisions have been taken by them not to open up the industry for the next few months.

This is bitterly disappointing, not least because a huge amount of effort has been put in by many people across all sectors to make the industry safe and we are completely confident that, when we are allowed to open, we will be able to hold safe trade events and we very much look forward to seeing you when we do.

To try and fill the gap this Autumn we have redesigned the STFA website so that we can host more pictures and videos of exhibitors products and enhance our online offering. Rather than do this over 2 days we are giving you more time and running it to the end of October via email and on our social media channels.  This has the advantage of buyers being able to pace the buying of stock depending on the implications of the constantly changing restrictions.  Please keep watching and engaging.  We know it's not like the real thing but if 2020 has taught us anything, it's that we have to adapt.  We promise to be back with the real thing just as soon as we are allowed!

2020 Fair UPDATE

We regret to inform you that we have reluctantly taken the decision not to hold Scotland’s Trade Fair Autumn this year. We are bitterly disappointed about this and wanted to let you know the reasons behind the decision:

  • Scot Gov will only provide an indicative date of 14 September for trade shows to recommence. They plan to review this on 10 September which provides no lead in time and simply does not give us enough time to plan a show successfully or safely.
  • The delays so far have inevitably meant that a number of exhibitors have decided to withdraw, leaving us with around a quarter of the number we normally have which is not really enough exhibitors to be able to host a credible show for you.
  • Whilst we could probably hold a smaller event in a different venue as we once did in Stirling, unfortunately none are open at the moment and most are reluctant to come out of furlough until they have a "go date" making advance planning impossible.

We have been very reluctant to make this decision, but I hope you will understand the reasons why we have reached this conclusion.

To try and fill the gap this Autumn we have redesigned the STFA website so that we can host more pictures and videos of exhibitors products and enhance our online offering. Rather than do this over a 2 day “show window” we will promote this content over a much longer window from September to the end of October via email and on our social media channels. We will forward you further details shortly.

We are very grateful for your support over such a difficult year and we are very sorry not to be able to repay that by being able to see you in person this Autumn.

2020 Fair UPDATE

We still really hope to run STFA20 in September. Scottish Government have given an indicative date of 14th Sept for trade shows to start but we await confirmation. If the event happens it will be at Ingliston in Edinburgh either one or two weeks later than planned.  We're afraid we cannot pull the event together any faster if we do not receive confirmation until 10th September. A lot of work has also been done on delivering a safe event and we are confident it can be achieved.

We will open registration as soon as we know if the show can happen. We will update this page regularly. Many thanks for your patience & support. If you would like to get in touch please email info@springboardevents.net. Keep well.

2020 Fair UPDATE

We are very much hoping to run Scotland's Trade Fair Autumn in September 2020.  There are however, still a number of hurdles to overcome, not least the approval of Scottish Government for an event of this nature to take place.

We have done a lot of research with both visitors and exhibitors and we are confident that there will be good support if the fair can go ahead.

A lot of work is being done with all our suppliers and contractors on how we deliver a safe event, something we are confident can be achieved.

At this stage we have not opened the registration for the show. We will do this as soon as we know if the event can proceed.

Please keep revisiting this page. We will update it on a regular basis for you.

Many thanks for your patience and support and if you would like to get in touch please drop us an email at info@springboardevents.net.

Keep well.
